My Grade Science Project

“My granddaughter has a Science Fair coming up soon and we need help. She is in the 2nd grade. My question is are the 24 Hour Projects 2nd grade level? If not, do you offer any at that level? Thanks.”

We often get this question about our projects. The answer is almost always, “Yes, you can use our project guides for your child’s grade.” With few exceptions, our guides can be adapted for use for any grade in elementary through middle school. The references we provide are on several levels – from very elementary to more complicated. The science experiments themselves are all really easy to do. All you’ll have to modify are the explanations that go on your display board. Just make sure they are appropriate for your child’s grade.

Searching for 4th Grade Science Projects

4th_grade_science_projectTrying to find the perfect science project guide for your 4th grader? Thankfully,  the internet is an amazing resource!  But what do you need to look for in a science project guide? First, it’s important to find a project that is challenging, educational, but also age  appropriate and interesting for your student.  Searching the internet allows for the type of focused results that will help you find a science project that balances all of these crucial elements.

You can search for projects with more focused search criteria like their grade level, or the subject matter, once you have decided what type of project your child would like to do. For example, “4th grade science project ideas, chickens.” This should hopefully yield plenty of results. It’s important to narrow your results with criteria like your child’s grade level, age, or a subject matter so that you can be sure you are getting results that will be useful to you.

If your student isn’t exactly sure what subject matter they want to do a project on, it might be smart to browse an online database of 4th grade science projects, like those found at http://www.akronlibrary.org/DBS/SFDB/Default.aspx or http://www.youth.net/nsrc/sci/sci.index.html, which you can look through by grade level or subject area. Databases like these are full of ideas and instructions, and are easier to use than just a simple general search that might bring you to an unreliable site. Another great resource for one-stop 4th grade science project ideas are the free guides found at http://www.middle-school-science-projects.com/guide.pdf.
